The Hong Kong-based media artist Chi-Yung Wong will showcase his latest immersive lighting installation “Walk with me” at the upcoming Impact Festival in Liège from 6 to 21 November 2018. To set up the artwork, Chi-Yung Wong accompanied researchers in neuroscience and psychiatry for 1.5 years to obtain first-hand knowledge on the concepts of stress, burnout and mindfulness. The artist then combined these experiences with an artistic and conceptual strategy. The result is a trans-disciplinary installation conceived as a meditative journey through an intricate composition of light, sound and tactile experiences. Chi-Yung Wong invites the visitor to experience his sensations in a conscious way. Consequently, he manages to emphasize and reinforce the link between the viewer's thoughts, body and emotional rhythm. The resulting serene and contemplative atmosphere fully elevates the art beyond the limiting constraints of its aesthetic boundaries.
